Do you have SAS 70 for InterestNet or DMI48?

No, we don’t have an SAS 70 letter for DMI48. We feel that the complex nature of the software makes attaining a letter prohibitively expensive. We’ve found that the fact that the IRS uses the same interest engine to determine the accuracy of interest computations has generally provided adequate assurance. If you would like to discuss this further, feel free to contact DMI.

We would like to get a better general understanding of the “logic” of the DMI program. Are there any training sessions or presentations scheduled?

See an example of a simple logic flow chart:

We offer web training sessions, using “GoTo Meeting”, on any topic of your choice. DMI training can accommodate up to twenty-five participants.  DMI trainers generally conduct a group introductory discussion, lead a software product demonstration and coordinate a hands-on case study and review.  Topics include software system overview, data development, jurisdictions (federal, state, foreign, custom), multiple taxpaying entities, interest base case development, system reports, rolling forward, Agreements, Settlements, Statute of Limitations, interest allocation, interest computation grouping, module balances and SOX 404.

Is there a DMI user guide?

You can access the DMI48 Help System by clicking on the Help option on the left hand side of the main screen.  To download the Video Tutorials for DMI48, simply click on DMI48 Training under the Tutorial option.
There is also a Help System for the InterestNet software which can be accessed by selecting the System Menu at the top of the InterestNet main screen and choosing the Help option.

Does DMI48 have a reminder to update interest rates?

A notification will appear on the Main Screen of DMI48 at the start of a new quarter if updated rates have not been applied already. New updates can then be downloaded through the automatic update or via our website

When using custom DPI Scaling in Windows Vista, some of the program windows and fonts in the DMI48 software do not appear to be lining up appropriately. Is there a solution for this?

You can find the DPI settings in Windows Vista by right clicking the desktop and then selecting “Personalize” > “Adjust Font Size (DPI)”. This will open the “DPI Scaling” control panel. In the bottom right corner, click “Custom DPI”. This will open another dialog with a checkbox labeled “Use Windows XP style DPI scaling”. Uncheck this box and Vista should now correctly display the DMI48 software.
